Fletcher Trade Finance Ltd
"Graphic Line Machinery Ltd ('GLM') had secured the sale of a Heidelberg printing press to a Nigerian client, with payment via a Letter of Credit 'confirmed' by a UK Bank. The printing press was being purchased from a supplier in France who required payment in full before releasing the printing press for shipment. GLM were seeking to raise finance against the letter of credit in their favour
I introduced GLM to Cassandra McAlpine ('CM') and her team at Synergy In Trade Ltd ('SIT'). CM reviewed the terms of the L/c and took control of negotiations with the French supplier which resulted in SIT issuing their own Letter of Credit. SIT also controlled the freight, logistics and preparation of the required Letter of Credit documentation.
This was an excellent outcome for GLM and enabled them to undertake a transaction that they may have otherwise had to turn away. In my opinion, SIT are 'unique' in their field of experience and are able to support SME clients with bespoke 'back to back' structures using Letters of Credit, often where there are Incoterm & Currency mismatches. My experience of dealing with CM & her team was absolutely 'first class', nothing was too much trouble.
